From the past 20 years we have been feeded by mindless, wacky and over the top comedy from the likes of David Dhawan, Aneez Bazmee and Priyadarshan to name a few, but with due respect they have rightly made some mad comedies where you just can't stop laughing even after the show ends. Now, with the multiplex audience coming in the new-age directors are on the rise and even a small budget flick can do the trick since, these people want great and innovative stories as their priority and not just big stars. A that is the reason why movie's like Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Bheja Fry and Khosla ka Ghosla worked inspite of no big stars.
Tere Bin Laden has come at the right time, when the audience requires some fresh kind of humour. The plot of getting a fake Osama to generate a way into creating news just so that the protagonist can reach America is itself something which catches your eye. Moreover, the fake Osama which is the trump card of the movie strikes the right chord. Apart from looking a perfect look alike Noora played by Pradyuman Singh performs his part very well. Giving him company is the Pakistani Singer Ali Zafar who is Ali Hassan a reporter of a third grade news channel of Karachi called Danka. The other partners in crime are Zoya (Sugandha Garg), Gul (Nikhil Ratnaparkhi), Qureshi (Rahul Singh) and Lateef (Chirag Vohra)
The movie does not waste anytime and gets right on track from the first shot. The antics of Ali Hassan are quite funny and so is the owner of Danka Majeed Bhai played by Piyush Mishra, and do we have wished to see more of him. Again without much waste of time the movie moves to the main plot where Ali finds Noora, a replica of Osama Bin Laden and then spreads the news which creates havoc and a lot of money for the partners in crime. The movie turns into a complete laugh riot when an American Officer Ted comes to trace Osama.
"Habibi George Bush....O Tere Maa Di......", The dialogues are not only funny but also witty. There are some scenes where you will fall down laughing and thats all because of the awesome timing of the cast. The casts did not have any stars but this cast will definately recieve a lot of stars.
The other hero of this movie is the director Abhishek Sharma who
brings in a story which is novel not only in theme but in content and writing as well. He has brilliantly recreated Pakistan in India, applauds for that. Also, the direction is crisp and the story has been molded very well. The dialogues are hilarious and witty. Santosh Thundiyil's cinematography is very good and the music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is foot tapping with Ullu Da Patha which has become quite famous.
The cast is new with a bunch of talented actors. Ali Zafar shows that he is not only a good singer but an equally talented actor, with decent looks..... as well. Himesh Bhai listening? Ali Zafar...forget Amreeka, Welcome to India, Welcome to Bollywood.
Pradyuman Singh is a delight to watch. Being the USP and trump card of the movie he has lived up to the expectations and this role of Noora will be one which people remember for long. Just outstanding! Sugandha is competent and performs well, Chirag Vohra and Nikhil Ratnaparkhi are very good. Piyush Mishra is a delight to watch. Rahul Singh is good as well and Barry John also excels as Ted.
Tere Bin Laden is a must watch. You will fall over your seat laughing in a few scenes. It's a total entertainment package with sensible and hilarious humour which is very rare in today's time. Go catch it in your nearest theaters today!
